Copy-Kids DVD Review and Giveaway

My daughter is not the best eater, so when Copy-Kids sent me their DVD I was excited to watch it with her but skeptical at the same time!

If you have not yet heard of them, Copy-Kids is a DVD series designed to get very young children (ages 6 months to 5 years) excited about eating fruits and vegetables.   The idea is simple - kids watching other kids eat different fruits and vegetables will get them to want to try it themselves - to copy them!

When we started up the DVD, my daughter was interested in it right away.  The main screen had big, bright pictures of various fruits and veggies.  The DVD features 12, 7 minute chapters, one for each of the following fruits & veggies: bell pepper, bananas, oranges, carrots, strawberries, avocado, raspberries, tomatoes, apples, broccoli, cucumber, blueberries.

The first chapter we watched was the apples.  My little one loved seeing each of the boys and girls eating the apples - each in their own way.  Within minutes, she was asking me to cut her some like one of the kids on the TV.  Can you believe that she ate almost two apples and asked me to reply the apple chapter again while she was eating!!  I was so happy and I admit a little shocked that it worked!

A few days later my daughter asked to watch the kids eating again.  This time, while watching the banana chapter, she ate an entire banana!  I used to cut it up for her, but because she watched one of the little girls peel the banana, she wanted to do the same thing.  So I gave it whole to her for the first time.  I was so impressed that she figured out exactly what to do!  Next thing I knew, she was throwing away the banana peel in the garbage!

To say I really love this DVD would be an understatement.  I plan on buying the other fruits and veggies on the DVD and giving them a try too!

If you have a picky eater, you should definitely give this video a try!  You can purchase the Copy-Kids DVD on their website for 19.95 or enter below to win a copy.

  2. My kids would greatly benefit from this video (I hope!). My older son has sensory problems that seem to limit what he'll eat. He is 7 and NEVER has had a bite of meat or a vegetable despite hours spent with occupational therapists hoping he'll take a bite. My younger son is following in his footsteps but is more open to trying food-- this video might be the trick! Thanks for the chance to win!

  3. Basically all of them. The only veggies she'll eat are peas and corn and the only fruits she'll eat are bananas and grapes!
