Turing two and organizing a party took a bit of time away from our letter of the week plans...
We still managed to fit in a few things, but not as much as I hoped for...oh well, weeks like this happen, right?
We hung up our letter D and sign on our easel. She placed the magnet D on the sheet on her own..
I sadly did not get a chance to change out our felt board - so the caterpillar, from last week, remained (which my little peanut did not get tired of playing with)...
We managed to get in a few "D" crafts - inspired by pinterest of course!
We made a hand-print duck.
I just love this little guy...he would make for a great Easter card...
We also painted the letter "D" (I wanted to make this into a dinosaur, but just ran out of time).
Like usual, we did a good amount of coloring for our "D" book.
This week, I did something new. The idea was inspired by Carissa over at 1+1+1=1. I created a "Letter of the week book" for my little peanut to use with dry erasers. The first two pages I wrote her first and last name and placed them in sheet protectors. Then I printed out a few "D" pages and placed them in sheet protectors. She went to this book OFTEN! She loves to color with the dry erase markers and then use the eraser (I got both at staples) to wipe the page clean so that she can do it again. Her name was especially a big hit. My hope is that it helps her to learn how to write her name.
That hand print duck is adorable!
