We went on a family vacation - a cruise to the Caribbean:)  It was wonderful!!  I am sure I will post many more pictures but this is us in their ice bar - the first ever on a cruise ship!!

Shop Handmade on Mondays - {Linky}

Baking Fun!

Over the weekend we celebrated hubby's grandma's 80th birthday!!

Over a year ago, for my little one's first birthday, I had made heart shaped cookies which each of the kids names on top.  

They came out so good, I decided to try that idea again; but this time as Nonna's 80th birthday favors.

Hubby was playing with my little peanut while I was rolling out the dough and cutting out the hearts but she was soon in the kitchen at my feet!

She has helped me cook before by pouring in the ingredients, but this time I cheated and bought pre-made cookie dough:)  

I asked her if she wanted to help and of course she said yes.  So I put her in one of my aprons and grabbed my step stool for her to stand on.  To say she had fun would be a HUGE understatement!!!  I gave her some flour and a bit of dough to roll and shape.  Here are some pics from our first (and most definitely not last) cookie baking day.

Letter of the week - F

This week we focused on the letter "F".   My little peanut is 24 months old.

We started by hanging up our "F" sign and found the letters to spell the word "Fish".

My little peanut LOVED the Elmo we had up from last week so much that when I tried to take it down, she got really upset.  So I decided to leave it alone, and just added some fish that we called "Dorothy".  It kinda worked out!  Can you tell that I cut the fish out freehand??  HA!

We colored and did more dot painting which we added to our "F" book.  Again she took it out at every  opportunity and flipped over the pages.  She is so proud of her art work and will show any visitors what she has made during the week (even the pizza guy...HAHA!). 

Our craft this week was a fish "sun-catcher".  I cut out a fish shape from blue construction paper.  I laid contact paper on one side and my little peanut stuck on ripped orange construction paper.  When she was done I covered the other side with more contact paper.  If you do not have contact paper, clear masking tape would work just as well.  I cut the fish out and placed him on my window.

We even sent one down to my little peanut's great-grandfather for his birthday.  I hope he likes it:)

Since Tuesday is Valentine's we also made some crayon hearts together; although not having anything to do with the letter "F".  Stay tuned for the finished product that my little peanut will be giving to her friends:)  Such a fun project!!!

Letter of the week - E

So first off....YAY GIANTS!!!!

This week we focused on E (for Eli, not really, but had to throw that out there)!

My little peanut is 24 months old.

Coming off of an Elmo Party last week, E week turned into Elmo week.  We had some left over Elmo cupcakes and balloons that fit perfectly with our "E" theme.  Don't you just LOVE when things work out like that?  

We started the week by hanging up our letter of the week sign and finding the magnetic "E".  We also spelled "E-L-M-O".

Can you guess what our felt board had this week?  Yup, you guessed it ELMO!  I told you we did a lot with Elmo this week:)

I cut out Elmo's head from red felt pretty much free hand.  I drew on the mouth and eyes with a black Sharpie marker.  My little one knew exactly who it was!   

She insisted on wearing her Elmo pajamas and taking a picture next to him.

We colored again, although less then in previous weeks, and made an "E" book with our finished pictures to look over.

My little peanut got dot paints for her birthday (thanks Keira!!) so we broke them out this week.  She LOVED using them on her "E" sheets.

Our craft this week was again Elmo centered.  I actually really liked how he turned out.  I wish I thought of doing this activity at her birthday party...oh well there is always next year!

Here we are painting a paper plate red.

Once the paint was dry, we added an orange nose and white eyes with black eyeballs - all cut from construction paper.

I drew on the mouth with a black sharpie.

I had really hoped to make some elephant crafts that I had pinned here, but we just didn't get a chance to.  Next time...
